Introduction

Welcome to the International Formula 1 Championship league! First of all, we want to tell that, this championship isn't just about winning. It's about close, and exciting racing. A close, exciting race means much more value, than a series of simple victories. If you have an attitude like this, you will learn soon that a correct, exciting race will you more delight than the winning for any price atittude. In short, we want clear races, with many great fights, but with minimal contacts, accidents. It's not so easy to settle, but it's every driver's exercise to race rationally, as he would drive a real F1 car in a real F1 race. The below rules was born to define what is allowed, and what is disallowed in a race. The rules are obligatory for every IF1C league race in the 2010 season, so every driver has to know the rules, if he wants to achieve good results, and clear races. For a rule, which is not defined in this rulebook is valid the rule of real Formula 1.

Judiciary

The judge is: Mr_Little.
The function of judge is to decide the thought illegal cases and issue the right penalty. Every case is decided by one judge.

Race conditions

We will use the following options in this season:
Game: F1 Challenge 99-02
Season: 2003, mod: RH2003
Track pack: Custom, available from Downloads menu
Race weekend director: Ritchcock
Race length: Half of 100% of number of laps, in case of even number of laps accurately (e.g. 20 - 10), in case of odd number of laps the biggest part (e.g. 31 - 16). Except Monza oval (100% race length).
Four types of race length is applied to 100%, by average speed: 260 km under 180 km/h, 305 km between 180 km/h and 250 km/h, 350 km beween 250 km/h and 300 km/h, custom over 300 km/h.

Tyre usage: 2x
Mechanical failures: on
Car damage: 20%
Weather: dry

Required pit stops: 2

You can use the following assistances: Steering assistance, Stability assistance, Spin recovery, Auto shifting, Traction Control, Anti-lock brakes, Clutch Assistence. The use of any modified file or something else is illegal! If you come to a race with modified .hdv, .gdb, engine.ini or in terrain.ini file, than you will be disqualified from that race.
Safety car will be used when necessary. SC driver is Mr Little. SC is deployed after accidents, but it depends on the scale of the damage, the number of drivers and the character of the track.

Delay of race

If the number of drivers is under 5, then the race will be canceled, and a new voting starts immediately for the next weekend about that race.

Drvivng rules

The following driving rules are available for the entire season. It's obligatory to keep them, for their contraventions you will get strict penalties.

Disallowed to
- cut the corners, bumpers, shorten the straights, gaining in this way time or position
- collision with an other car, knock with it, or knock out
- force the car the other driver
- driving on reverse direction
- Change direction unduly twice or more times
- Stop on the starting grid or other place on the track under the race and qualification
- Driving reverse on the track during the race or qualification
- Ignore blue flag, detain the faster driver
- Overtake under yellow flag
- Change direction twice or more by the defender under the straight section
- Chock the car to the pale or the crash barrier during the race and qualification and gaining in this way time or position.

Rules of race weekend

The sessions of a race weekend will run on the same day, one after the other. The Race weekend's starting date shuold be defined with the result of the voting. We choose that date, which brings the most driver to race. You get The final date and the password within 24 hours after the voting had finished. Join to the server: everybody has 15 minutes from the starting to join. The server name will be always "IF1C", that's what you should find in the Lobby window. After join, if you have any mismatch problem, you have to repaire and rejoin to the server within short time. If the original 15 minutes isn't enough for that, then we add another 15 minutes to this session.

Qualyify: the grid order will be defined with the qualify lap times. Every driver has max. 12 laps (with pre and after laps), and the session length is 20 minutes. If you are finishing a lap after 20 minutes, but you started it within that, it's allowed. An exception is the Italian GP at Monza, there will be a single car running one after the other, and every driver has only 2 fast laps. If the driver is disqualified by any reason, can not start the race. It's important that you can't join to the under the qualifying session.

Race: the session starts with 5 minutes preapring time. You can make your setup and strategy for the race in this 5 minutes. After that, you have 30 seconds to enter the race, and the next is the start! Those people can start the race, whose time within the 115% limit time, or who grabs the pole position. With a laptime, which is caught by a different way cannot be started the race. If the weather is changing under the qualifying session (dry to wet or wet to dry), and a driver is out of the limit time, he can get a special permission to take part in the race. If one of the directors doesn't achieve the limit time, then must exit to viewer mode instantly after the start. At least 2 pit stops are required during the race.

Penalties

In this season, beyond the penalties of the game, we give two kind of penalyt: 20 second, and 30 seconds. In both case, if the judging corporation decide in an affair somebody guilty, then one of the penalty times will be added to his race time.

20 seconds can be given for the following reasons:
- Change direction unduly twice or more times
- Change direction twice or more by the defender under overtaking try
- Cut or extend part of the track and get vantage in position or time in this way.
In the first two case cannot be given penalty.
In case if the party at fault in the accident readmit the innocent driver, cannot be given penalty.
- if an almost lapped driver slows at a causeless place and time under lapping, and it's causing an accident.
- if a track has more than one possible pit entering, and the driver uses not the defined one.
- Chock the car to the pale or the crash barrier during the race and qualification and gaining in this way time or position.

30 seconds can be given for the following reasons:
- force the car to the other driver
- knock with or knock out from the track
- the first corner after the start knock or knock out another driver and it cause another collision

Disqualification from the current race for the following reasons:
- reverse on the track during the race or qualification. If it is only for set the car the correct direction after a spin then cannot be given penalty.
- driving with wrong direction on the track during the race or qualification.
- standing on the track during the race or qualification.
- complete more than 12 laps on qualification.
- any foul on the same race, more than 3 times

1 race penalty can be given for the following reason:
- standing on the track during the race or qualification.
- reverse on the track during the race or qualification. If it is only for set the car the correct direction after a spin then cannot be given penalty.
- any foul on the same race, more than 3 times

3 race penalty can be given for the following reasons:
- a driver causes accidents or make irregular things in series, purposely.

Disqualification from the league can be given for the following reasons:
- a driver gets second time 3 race penalty in one season.

Teams and car performance

Disallowed to change any of the official .hdv, .gdb, terrain.ini or engine.ini file. There are no differences between the team's cars physics. The race tracks are unified because every driver has to use the same terrain.ini file.

Defining of the race starting date

Grand Prixes are organized on every Sunday from 16:00 CEST.

Point system

That driver and team wins the drivers and the teams championships, which grabs the highest point number after 19 races. You can grab points for the following results:
- you are in pole position (1 point)
- you win the race (10 points)
- you are in 2. place (8 points)
- you are in 3. place (6 points)
- you are in 4. place (5 points)
- you are in 5. place (4 points)
- you are in 6. place (3 points)
- you are in 7. place (2 points)
- you are in 8. place (1 point)
- you finished the race (2 points)

Restart of race

If a server connection broke before the end of the qualyification, then the entire race weekend must be repeated. If the qualification is ended, then only the race, and the order of the qualification is valid. In both case, if possible to continue the game within 1 hour from the server problem, then it happens. If the server connection broke after the 75% of the race then the actual order become final result and every driver score full points. If the server connection broke before the 75% of the race then the server will be restarted immediately.

Lag / internet connection problens

It's recommended for every friver to stop every other programs (pl. torrent), when we playing a race or a test. In the .plr file you should overwrite the value of "Throttling" from 0 to 1. The file's destination is: EA Sports/F1 Challenge '99-02/Save/. If any driver has a synchronization time difference is more than 200 ms, then his car can't be able to crash with an other car.

Protestation

Protestations can be sent on the website. The deadline of protestation sending is Sunday 23:59 - after the race.

Race missing

Who does not take part on the race automatically get a missing, unless the driver sign his absence. If a driver reaches 2 missings in row (without absence signing), then he will be removed from the league immediately, and can't return until the end of the season. If somebody can not be able to start the race because the time limit, then it does not result any missing.

Name, car, other rules

Every driver has to use that name in the season, what he gave at registration. Who is removed, or exited by myself, can't return to the leauge in the actual season. You can change your team anytime betweeen any two races, if that place is empty, and you don't use you change already. You can change in one season max. 1 time. Within the same team, you can change any times yu want, but you have to agree with your team partner, if you have. In both case, you have to indicate this change to the league directors.
